COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

  • Damon serves on the Board of Directors for Men of Valor, an organization committed to reducing recidivism and helping incarcerated men safely and effectively reenter society.

  • Damon is highly involved with scouting, serving on the Executive Board of the Middle Tennessee Boy Scouts of America. He previously served as Council President from 2016 to 2018.

  • Damon serves on the Board of Trustees for the Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation, overseeing the mission and future growth of the PIKE Foundation.

  • Damon serves on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and the Tennessee Manufacturing Association.

  • Damon was elected by his peers to serve on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Business Leadership Council.

  • Along with other prominent middle Tennessee business leaders, Damon is a member of the the Nashville Chamber’s Board of Directors.

  • Damon serves on the Board of Directors for the Kansas State University Foundation, providing guidance on strategic planning, fundraising initiatives, policy setting, and financial management.

  • Damon serves on The Adoption Project’s Founders Committee, which advises the organization on development. In 2023 he chaired the inaugural Champion’s Dinner, an annual event recognizing leaders for their work to improve adoption and foster care.

  • Damon served as Chair for the 2024 Statesmen’s Dinner, the party’s largest annual fundraiser.

  • Damon previously served as a Board Trustee for the United Way of Greater Nashville, as well as terms as Board Chair and Campaign Chair.

  • The Hiningers are active members of First Presbyterian Church of Nashville, where Damon and Carrie teach Sunday School and Carrie is an Elder.

HONORS & AWARDS

  • The Nashville Business Journal named Damon Hininger as a “Most Admired CEO” in 2016 and 2019.

  • Damon was recognized by Forbes in 2011 as one of the 20 most powerful CEOs 40 and under in the United States.

  • In 2022, Damon was recognized by the American Correctional Association with the E.R. Cass Award. The E.R. Cass Award is the highest honor bestowed in the correctional field, given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions.

  • Damon was honored as Alumni of the Year in 2010 by the Massey Graduate School of Business at Belmont University.

  • In 2024, The Adoption Project honored Damon as a Tennessee Champion for Adoption and Foster Care for his efforts to raise awareness of adoption and foster care within the business and philanthropic communities.
